Our Story
THE ORIGINS OF THE COMPANY
Nine Worlds started with the young man you see here. When he was diagnosed with level 1 autism at age 13, Ayden's parents set out to help him use his talents to create clothing designs that are as unique as the people who wear them.
Ayden's four siblings stepped up to support his work and the entire family now works from their home studio in Aubrey, Texas. Every design is first created in the studio and is based on mythological stories, traditional folk art, or simply an imaginative representation of reality.
We then send the design file to our printing partners who print the patterns and designs into the fabric. The printed fabric is then sent to our sewing team who cuts and sews each shirt, cloak and hoodie with love.
The driving force behind our designs is the idea that everyone is unique in their own way and clothing is a way to express that uniqueness. Much like the way colorful tattoos express individuality, the designs and patterns in Nine Worlds Gear offer a way to look stylishly good while expressing who you are.
THE NINE WORLDS NAME
Nine Worlds has both an ancient reference and a current meaning and we combine both in our designs. Nine Worlds originally comes from Norse mythology and includes the well known stories of Thor and Loki and Odin.
We pattern many of our designs on the Norse style artwork that spans centuries and are based on the myths and stories from that time.
We also take a more modern reference to Nine Worlds; these include the seven continents of our planet, the oceans and the galaxies of space. Those, too, lend inspiration to our designs.
From the ancient art of South America, to the art of Asia, Africa and beyond, to the depths of the oceans filled with the creatures of the seas and to outer space, filled with the beauty of nebulas, constellations and planets, we derive inspiration.
Each design has a story and is as unique as our customers who love expressing themselves through our art.
NINE WORLDS VISION
Our family philosophy is simple; every human has value and worth. In a family with multiple diagnosis, including autims, dyslexia, ADHD, dysgraphia, cerebral palsy and more, appreciating and understanding the uniqueness of each person is simply part of every day life.
Both autism and dyslexia are expressed in the way the brain sees the world in slightly different ways than neurotypical brains. The result is often an amazingly detailed imagination. That shows through in almost every design here at Nine Worlds Gear and it is the hallmark of our unique designs and patterns.
We celebrate our differences and our uniqueness. Every new design is another expression of individuality we offer the world.
